Oʻahu Realtor for mainland relocations, military PCS moves, and local buying and selling

A quick note up front: I wasn’t born and raised on Oʻahu. I’ve been here 5 years, and I’ve built my place the way you’re supposed to — by showing respect, learning the island, and doing good work for people who put real trust in me. Over time, the friends I’ve made here stopped feeling like “contacts” and started feeling like ohana. And the more I’ve been on the water, in the neighborhoods, and in the day-to-day of island life, the more I’ve come to understand ʻāina — not as a talking point, but as a way people live: care for place, move with intention, and don’t treat Hawaiʻi like a product.

If you’re relocating from the mainland, I can help you settle in without stepping on landmines — the kind you don’t see from a listing photo: fee simple vs. leasehold, condo/AOAO rules, parking realities, flood and insurance considerations, and commute timing that changes depending on the hour. The goal is simple: make the process feel clearer, calmer, and more “decision-safe.”

Mainland perspective
I speak “mainland” without talking down

I grew up in the Bay Area, went to the University of Cincinnati, and lived in Denver after college. Different places teach different instincts — how fast people move, what they worry about, and what they assume is “normal.” That helps when you’re landing here and realizing Oʻahu plays by its own rules.

Military PCS
Clean timelines, fewer surprises

If you’re PCSing to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Schofield, or MCBH, timing matters. I’m set up for remote coordination, walkthrough video, and tightening the plan early so you’re not scrambling when deadlines hit.

Talk Realty
Local brokerage, real access

Talk Realty is locally owned and operated. For you, that usually means direct access, faster answers, and fewer handoffs — plus smooth coordination with the local lenders and escrow teams we work with every week.

Aloha, ʻāina, and the way I do business

One thing you learn pretty quickly here: people can spot “tourist energy” a mile away. The version of aloha that matters isn’t the greeting — it’s patience, humility, and taking care of people when it would be easier to be transactional.

The same goes for ʻāina. You start to feel how connected everything is — rain, drainage, ocean, wind, neighborhood layout — and how that connection shows up in real estate decisions. Sometimes it’s as practical as a flood zone check. Sometimes it’s knowing what side of the street gets trade winds and which one feels hotter in August. It’s not a spreadsheet thing. It’s a lived thing.

And ohana… that’s personal. My closest friends on the island became my family here. They keep me grounded and they keep me honest. That’s the same energy I bring to clients: I’ll tell you the truth, I’ll protect your peace, and I’ll treat your move like it matters — because it does.

Why I got into real estate

I got into real estate because I did the math. At 22, I bought my first home with a simple idea: if you have to live somewhere, owning an asset can be a practical path — especially when you treat it like a long-term decision, not a quick win.

I didn’t come from money. I remember hoping there would be twenty dollars left in my bank account at the end of the month. Buying that first property changed my trajectory. It showed me that you don’t need to be born wealthy — you need knowledge, discipline, and the right strategy.

With a background in construction management, I naturally evaluate property through structure, cost, and risk. Today, I approach client decisions the same way I approach my own investments: long-term performance, integrity of the asset, and how it’s positioned within the market.

Life on Oʻahu, off the clock

Off the clock, I’m usually outside. Paddling is one of those things that makes the island feel smaller in a good way — early mornings, salt in the air, and the kind of conversations you only have when you’re out on the water. I’m also in the ocean whenever I can, diving and learning the coastline the slow way.

If you’re new here, Lanikai is hard to beat for the “first time on the Windward side” moment — snorkeling, kayaking to the Mokulua Islands, a pillbox hike, or a quiet reset on the sand. And Kāneʻohe Bay… the views are unreal. It’s one of those places that reminds you why you moved here in the first place.

How I guide buyers and sellers

My standard is simple: earn trust through performance. That means direct communication, strong negotiation, and guidance that treats your home decision like a real financial choice — not just a transaction.

For mainland clients, I act as true boots-on-the-ground support: virtual tours, walkthrough video, and neighborhood context you can actually use — so you can narrow smart before you hop on a plane.

For sellers, the focus is positioning and pricing with intention, professional marketing, and clear communication so you feel in control from day one through closing.

Before you buy: quick checks I’ll help you confirm

Hawaiʻi real estate has a few quiet details that can change the whole picture. These are the early checks I take seriously — especially for remote buyers.

  • Fee simple vs. leasehold ownership (and what that changes for financing and resale)
  • HOA/AOAO rules: parking, pets, rentals, and renovation limits
  • Flood zones and insurance considerations (verify by address)
  • Tsunami evacuation zones where applicable (verify by address)
  • Commute reality at the hours you’ll actually drive
